Educación física y salud mental: programa de 12 semanas en BGU.

Resumen

El presente estudio tuvo como propósito analizar el impacto de un programa de Educación Física de doce semanas sobre el bienestar psicológico y la ansiedad en estudiantes de Bachillerato General Unificado de una institución fiscal de la ciudad de Guayaquil. Participaron sesenta adolescentes de entre quince y diecisiete años, quienes fueron evaluados mediante un diseño cuasi‑experimental pre y post intervención. El programa integró circuitos aeróbico‑funcionales y dinámicas lúdicas, con una frecuencia de tres sesiones semanales orientadas a fomentar la participación activa y el trabajo cooperativo. Se aplicaron los instrumentos WHO‑5, GAD‑7 y PAQ‑A antes y después de la intervención, complementados con entrevistas grupales. Los resultados mostraron un incremento significativo del bienestar general y de los niveles de actividad física, así como una reducción notable de los síntomas de ansiedad. Las percepciones de los participantes destacaron una mayor cohesión social y un mejor afrontamiento del estrés académico. Estos hallazgos evidencian que una Educación Física planificada y contextualizada puede constituir una estrategia escolar efectiva para promover la salud mental y el bienestar integral en adolescentes.
